Door Code Generator

Create a random door code for your front door. This HTML form does not save any data. Choose a code style, then use the email or text buttons to send your code to your property manager.

How the lock works

The lock has five buttons stacked top to bottom - button 1 is the top and 5 is the bottom. Your code is a short sequence of presses. After entering it, you turn the knob/lever to open the door.

Two simple rules:

  1. Each button is used only once in a code - no number repeats.
  2. You can press two buttons at the same time (a "double-press"), which counts as one step in the sequence.

Reading a code

A dot means "then." Two numbers joined together mean press those buttons at the same time.

1.2.3.4 = press 1, then 2, then 3, then 4 12.3.4 = press 1 & 2 together, then 3, then 4

Optional - fill these in to personalize the email or text before generating.

Your new code

It doesn't look like an email app opened on this device. No problem - copy the message below and paste it into an email (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) to your property manager.

Copied - paste it into a new email.

How to enter your code on the door

  1. Press the buttons in the order shown in the code, working left to right.
  2. Where two numbers are joined (like 12), press both buttons at the same time, then let go together.
  3. A dot means "then" - finish one press, then move to the next.
  4. Press each button firmly until it clicks.
  5. After the full code is entered, turn the knob/lever to open the door. If the door doesn't unlock, you may have turned the knob the wrong direction - this resets all the buttons. Try your code again, but this time turn the knob the opposite direction.
  6. This lock does not relock by itself. To lock up, close the door and turn the knob back the other way to throw the bolt. From inside, turn the thumbturn to lock, or to leave - no code needed.

Keep your code safe

This code unlocks your apartment. Keep it private. Do not post it where others can see it, and do not share it with anyone who should not have access to your home. A fee applies to change your code after move-in - contact the office. If you think your code has been seen by someone else, contact the office so it can be changed.
